How to prepare for Wedding Dress Shopping
Wether you knew this or not you are about to embark on one of the most emotional journey's of the wedding planning experience. Thankfully if you are doing things in the standard order it happens earlier on in the wedding planning process. Here are a steps to help you on your wedding dress shopping journey.
Step 1
Eat a meal that gives you plenty of energy but also won't weight you down. The last thing you want is to feel heavy, tired and bloated when you are about to be trying on wedding gowns. And you also don't want to be tired and cranky either!
Step 2
Have a budget in mind and factor in the extra cost of alterations and things like your veil and accessories . There is the cost of your dress and the cost of the things that make your dress perfect and bring the look together like the accessories.
Step 3
Have your shopping team picked out in advance and keep it small. Too many opinions can confuse a bride and make the decision much harder then it needs to be. Take into account that your entourage is giving you feedback on your wedding dress choices. At the end of the day it is your choice !
Step 4
Have some idea of dresses you're interested in and what styles you want to try. Having a few dresses you are inspired by it gives your consultant a feel for your style and makes selecting dresses easier.
Step 5
Its not the best idea to go to far from home when shopping for your wedding gown. Many bridal stores do not alter dresses from other shops. Meaning you will have to go to the location you purchased your gown from for your fittings. In the midst of normal life and wedding planning a road trip for every fitting may be a unnecessary hassle.
Step 6
Come to your appointment with hair and makeup done. You don't need to be in full wedding day glam but having an idea of how your dress looks when your done up is only going to help you picture the full effect on your wedding day.
